Summer 2019 Temp

The LHRC's Summer Rowing Programs on beautiful Bantam Lake offer a positive and fun environment to either begin your rowing career or simply sharpen your skills. We offer a variety of programs to match skill level and competitive interest for rowers of all athletic backgrounds and ages (ages 12 and over).

Space will be limited so please register as quickly as possible or send us an email if you have any questions. 


Junior/College Competitive

Athletes must have rowed at least one year as a novice or been a varsity, or U-23 eligible athlete. This program is designed to build athletes boat moving ability in sculling and sweep while developing fitness for the coming fall season or racing at Independence Day Regatta and/or Club Nationals. All sessions are coached. Transportation to and from practices and regattas is the responsibility of the athlete and/or parent(s). All practices will either be held at our boathouse (1 N Shore Rd, Bantam, CT 06750) or our Indoor Training Facility (607 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750).

Program 1:

  • Mon, Jun 10-Sun, Jun 30

  • M/Tu/W/Th/F: 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. Changes to 8:00 am-10:30 am on Mon, June 17.

  • Cost: $320 (Regatta fees NOT included. Fees must be paid separately prior to each event.)

  • Cost: $900 (Regatta fees NOT included. Fees must be paid separately prior to each event.)

Program Discounts:

  • Returning Active Collegiate Rowers: $450 (50% off) for Full Summer

  • Active duty or reserve military personnel with a valid ID are eligible to receive a 25% discount on rowing fees.


Development Program

The Development Program is designed to introduce new youth rowers to the sport and provide further development to current members of the LHRC Dev team. Skills in both sweep and sculling boats will be improved. All sessions are coached. Transportation to and from practices and regattas is the responsibility of the athlete and/or parent(s). All practices will either be held at our boathouse (1 N Shore Rd, Bantam, CT 06750) or our Indoor Training Facility (607 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750).

  • M/Tu/W/Th/F: 3:00 pm-4:30 pm. Changes to 10:30 am-12:00 pm on Mon, June 17.

Masters Competitive/Intermediate

This program targets the adult rower with a more serious mind for the sport. Those who join should be willing to commit to a consistent training schedule and a plan to compete in at least one regatta per season. To determine aptitude for this program, a coach's review may also be required. All sessions are coached. All practices will either be held at our boathouse (1 N Shore Rd, Bantam, CT 06750) or our Indoor Training Facility (607 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750).

Season:

Schedule:

  • M/T/W/Th/F: 5:30 am-7:00 am

Cost:

  • Cost - $450 for single season/$1,125 for annual (Regatta fees NOT included. Fees must be paid separately prior to each event.)

  • Drop-in Fee - $15 per row (limit of two)

Regattas


Masters Recreational

This program aims to improve your rowing skills while allowing you to enjoy the outdoors. A typical rower in this program has been rowing for years or just learned how to row but doesn't wish to commit to a consistent training schedule and/or a plan to compete. All sessions are coached. All practices will either be held at our boathouse (1 N Shore Rd, Bantam, CT 06750) or our Indoor Training Facility (607 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750).

Season:

  • Mon, Jun 3-Th, Aug 15

Schedule:

  • M/W/Th: 6:00 pm-7:30 pm

Cost/Details:

  • Cost - $400 for single season/$975 for annual (Regatta fees NOT included. Fees must be paid separately prior to each event.)

  • Drop-in Fee - $15 per row (limit of two)

  • MUST HAVE prior rowing experience to join. To determine aptitude, a coach's review may be required.

Regattas:

  • Ability to compete at regattas will be determined on an individual basis at the coaching staff's discretion.

 

NOTE: All sessions are coached. Non-coached options are available for members at the Head Coach's approval. All fees for programs must have at least a 50% payment made within the first two weeks of the start of a season, or rowing privileges will be suspended until they are in good standing. The balance must then be paid in full by the mid-point of the season, or privileges will again be suspended. Payment plans are available, but must be approved prior to the start of the season. Regatta fees must be paid separately prior to each event. All sessions are coached.
